How is it that in a relationship, you can go from having a good day, to having an amazing few weeks together, then back to fighting, yelling, screaming and arguing.

and not arguing over something huge, i mean something small and petty? I know that all relationships have their issues, their ups and downs but sometimes it is too much to take in.

i hear all the time that communication is the key, but what if communicating is not solving the issue but making it a lot worse than it is. when the person is trying to have a conversation to talk things out and the outcome is not so great.  People have said to walk away from it but really what does that solve? A quick moment to calm down and be right back at it. I really do need another method, any suggestions??
